Regular Season Round 43: LG Sakers - KoGas 85-81

Rather expected game in Changwon where 5th rankedKoGas (24-25) were defeated by second ranked Sakers (30-18) 85-81 on Sunday. LG Sakers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Egyptian center Assem Marei (206-1992, college: MSU) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Filipino forward Carl Tamayo (200-2001) chipped in 19 points. Four Sakers players scored in double figures. Canadian Andrew Nicholson (206-1989, college: St.Bonaventure) produced a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and Filipino guard Samjosef Belangel (177-1999) added 17 points and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. LG Sakers maintains second place with 30-18 record having ten points less than leader Seoul Knights. KoGas lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth position with 25 games lost.
